What is Surf Masters?

Jeffrey's Bay is a Surf Mecca, and rated as one of the best right hand point breaks in the world!  Here you will find un-crowded, consistent and versatile surfing conditions that cater for those surfers who are just finding their feet on a board, as well as the more advanced surfers.

At SURF MASTERS you don’t just enjoy surfing good waves; you get to be a part of the local surfing community. SURF MASTERS is part of the Jeffrey's Bay Board riders Club, where we get to be part of their events and competitions.

The year is packed with a combination of training, adventure, surfing and a variety of challenges to shape your life!

COMPONENT 1: VGY Core

All of the various VGY specific schools participate in our VGY Core Curriculum which lays a sure Biblical foundation. Core activities exposes the students to life changing learning experiences. Read more about VGY Core under: ALL SCHOOLS – VGY CORE.
 
COMPONENT 2: Surfing Culture
 
• SURFING ETHICS: The bigger meaning of surfing
• SURF LIFESTYLE: Fitness and health, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
• SURFING ART: History, culture, art, design, fun and creativity.
 
COMPONENT 3: Serving Others
 
• SURF SCHOOLS: Reaching out to others through Surf Coaching
• SURF CONTESTS: Event management, planning, competing.
• SURFING STEWARDSHIP: Helping keep our beaches and parks green and clean.
 
COMPONENT 4: Cutting Edge Surfing
 
• SURFBOARDS: Understanding shape
• SURFING: Mastering the surfer.
 
All of these components, although they relate to surfing, have been put together to infuse you with an understanding of the ways, values and character of God. He is our Master Shaper and He has a design for your life!

Activities

  • Frequent surfing and perfecting every surfer's technique.
  • Every year the Surf Masters embark on a Surfing Expedition to the Wild Coast of South Africa and explore new shores and ride amazing waves.
  • The travel and adventure is a high impact time!

Where is Surf Masters?

SM7aThe SURF MASTERS house is situated in Wavecrest, a safe suburb of Jeffreys Bay. We are located just across the street from the famous Point surf break, right next to Supertubes, walking distance to the Spar Shopping Centre, restaurants and other shops and a 5 minute drive to the Fountains Regional Mall (with the local Cinema), ATM's and Coffee shops.

The SURF MASTERS HOUSE also has:

  • Internet access / Wi-Fi;
  • Garden;
  • Family Living Room
  • Small chill pool
All of the above makes for an ideal place for our students to live in and enjoy the family-oriented environment that is provided
